A traditional silk doll is very simple and yet oh so magical to the young child. Parents can make our silk dolls in seconds. They are great for teething and compress easily which makes them perfect for travel!
- Square piece of silk or a piece of cotton hand. (ours is 16 x 16 inch)
- Cotton thread
- Lambs wool roving or cotton
- Sewing needle (optional)
Roll wool/cotton in the palm of your hands until it forms a ball for the dolls head.
Place your wool ball in the center of your silk.
Cover the wool ball with the silk/fabric to form the dolls head. Wrap cotton thread tightly around the base to secure, tie a tight knot. Use a needle and thread to sew a few stitches to ensure the thread will stay in its position.
Now tie knots in the silk for the doll's hands, at the two end corners, which are next to the head.
Play and cuddle!
