Perfected over the years this is our favorite cake recipe!
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup honey
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 3 cups unbleached flour
- 1 Tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Powdered sugar
- berries of your choice
(We used black berries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter and oil the baking pans.
Cream butter and honey
Beat eggs separately; add to butter and honey
Sift flour, baking powder, and salt.
Alternate between adding flour and milk to honey/butter mixture.
Mix until well blended.
Pour into cake pans.
Bake for about 35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean in center.
Cake will be light golden brown.
Stack cakes on top of each other once they have cooled.
Using a sifter sprinkle powder sugar over cakes.
Top with berries of your choice.
