I Made My Own Light Table!

Light tables are used by photographers to proof their work and by artists for drawing and tracing. They are also found in schools for use with sensory play.  We designed a tray for the top of our table  that can be used for water play, sand art, and letter writing.

In Art the light table can help explore color theory through play with tissue paper, colored water, painting, and drawing. The light table can also make work in mathematics "glow" and "sparkle" and in Science can illuminate materials placed upon it, similarly to a microscope. But, regardless of what you are learning or even if you are just playing around the light table is just plain fun!

We can't wait to share our fun activities for the light table with you.
And, a tutorial is in the works on how you can make one of these at home!

ENJOY!
